Why carry a pet emergency card?
Whoever helps you after an accident does not know that an animal is waiting for you at home. Without a sign, nobody notices.
With the card, they know right away. They see who to call and in which order.
How to use the card
- Print the card, cut it out along the cut marks and fold it along the dashed line.
- Put it in your wallet, right next to your ID card. That is where people look when they help you.
- Tell your helpers that their number is on the card.
- Print a new card whenever a number changes.
And if nobody finds you?
The card helps when someone finds you. PawSafe also helps when nobody finds you.
You start a timer when you leave your pet alone. If you do not check back in, PawSafe alerts your helpers on its own, one after another. Whoever says yes takes over. You need no account.
App notifications are free. SMS and WhatsApp come with a subscription. The app also makes you the same emergency card.

Questions about the pet emergency card
What goes on a pet emergency card?
The front says that your pet is home alone, with the pet's type and name and a short note such as where the key is. The back has up to four names and phone numbers of people who can step in, in the order to call them.
How do I make a pet emergency wallet card?
Type the pet's type and name into the field, for example "Dog Milo". Separate several pets with a comma: "Dog Milo, cat Lou". Then add your helpers. You see the card in the preview as you type.
How do I get a printable pet emergency card?
Click "Print card or save as PDF". In the print dialog, pick your printer or "Save as PDF". Set the scale to 100 percent. The card then has the size of a credit card (85.6 x 54 millimetres). Cut marks show where to cut. Fold the card along the dashed line. Turn on background graphics in the print dialog so the colours print.
Is the printable pet emergency card free?
Yes. You need no account and no email address. The generator runs in your browser. Your input is neither sent nor stored. When you close the page, it is gone.
Who should I list as a helper?
People who have a key or can reach your pet quickly, such as neighbours, friends or family. Ask them first whether their number may go on the card. The first number is called first.
What if nobody finds me?
Then the card cannot help. That is what PawSafe is for. You start a timer when you leave your pet alone. If you do not check back in, PawSafe alerts your helpers one after another on its own.
