PawSafe / FAQ
Questions about the flow.
These answers describe the current flow for owners and selected helpers.
How does a check-in time work?
You set when you want to be home again. PawSafe reminds you before that time and shows you when to check in.
What happens if I do not check in on time?
If you miss your check-in time, PawSafe opens an emergency and alerts your helpers one after another, by app notification, SMS or WhatsApp. You set how long each helper has to answer. If a helper declines or does not answer, the next one is alerted. When one accepts, they take over, and anyone who did not answer is told they do not need to do anything. PawSafe does not call emergency services.
Can PawSafe end a check-in automatically?
If you turn on automatic ending, PawSafe can end the check-in period after your return while no emergency is open. Only you can end an open emergency.
What does a helper see?
The helper page shows personal emergency details only after “Open emergency”. Access details require a separate action. Message delivery and a person’s response are shown separately.
Can a helper end the emergency?
No. Only you end the emergency. A helper taps “I’ll help” and takes over. You hear about it right away.
What if a helper cannot help?
The helper taps “I can’t”. If they already said “I’ll help”, they tap “I can’t after all”. Either way, PawSafe asks the next helper and you get a notification.
What does PawSafe cost?
App notifications are free. SMS and WhatsApp come with an optional subscription. The App Store shows the price, term, and renewal details before you buy. PawSafe is always free for helpers.
How is my data protected?
The helper page does not load personal details on its first view. It shows them only after your action. Read the privacy policy for details.
